Centerra Services International Inc. is seeking Armed Part Time Security Officers to work at our high profile contract in Pasadena, California. Candidates selected will be required to complete a 4 week NASA Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy. Candidates selected will be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Qualified applicants selected will be required to complete a 4 week NASA Federal Law Enforcement training Academy. Responsibilities

•Knowledge of NASA/JPL Security and Plant Protection policies and regulations; knowledge of protective devices; physical security protective systems including inspection and monitoring operations of each system; able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing; knowledge of municipal laws and arrest authority; able to exercise sound judgment in applying laws and regulations under stress conditions; be trustworthy and reliable; meet minimum physical standards prescribed in the prevailing NASA/JPL Security Manual, including any updates or revisions thereof; be able to perform communication console duties; and meet all qualifications standards of training.

•Enforce security directives and regulations; prevent, detect and apprehend violators; provide aid and comfort during emergencies; control entry to facility closed and restricted areas; perform traffic control duties; issue JPL parking and traffic citations; take appropriate action in event of fire, disorder or emergency threatening life or property; provide uniform assistance to the JPL Security Investigations Office; assist outside law enforcement agencies while on JPL premises; perform special patrol and/or surveillance duties; investigate accidents and incidents and submit accurate and complete written reports; protect NASA/JPL property, personal and classified information; and conduct inspections of vehicles, briefcases and classified information; and conduct inspections of vehicles, briefcases and packages to prevent unauthorized removal of government property.

•Fulfills working level security officer functions under direction of the Subcontractor’s shift supervisor and be capable of independent actions under limited supervision.


Qualifications

•3-5 Years experience in the area of security and plant protection
•U.S. Citizen
•Successfully complete a physical examination and a physical fitness test
•Successfully pass a psychological examination and pre-employment drug screening.
•Meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the Secret level
•Successfully complete the NASA Federal Law Enforcement training basic academy and periodic refresher courses.
•Possess a California Gun and Guard Card
•Possesses a valid California Drivers License
•Be willing to work any shift
