Centerra is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator to work at our contract at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba Water Treatment Plant and Distribution System. The system serves approximately 8,000 military and civilian personnel. The system has a design treatment capacity of 3.0 MGD. The source water is salt water from Guantanamo Bay.
The plant includes a Reverse Osmosis System with working pressures to 900 PSIG.

Qualifications

•High School diploma/Equivalent or Above.
•Must possess or have received through reciprocity a current/valid operator's certificate equivalent to the second highest water certification grade/class level issued by the Water Works Operators Certification Board of Examiners from the state license is issued.
•Four to Ten years of experience in water treatment plant operation and maintenance.
•Familiarity with Reverse Osmosis systems, membrane care and treatment, backwashing Dual Media Filters, chemical injection and Dosing.
•Familiarity with all typical water treatment chemicals.
•Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral format.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
The water treatment plant operation is a 24/7 system. Watch standing, system monitoring and adjustment are the primary activities. Testing of water quality during treatment operations involves contact with typical water treatment chemicals and processes.
Incumbent is required to be able to handle loads of approximately 75 lbs. Movement around the water treatment plant and associated facilities. Bending, reaching, climbing ladders are typical examples of required flexibility and agility.
