Centerra is seeking qualified applicants to fill full and part time Armed Security Guard positions in Mobile, Alabama. Centerra provides a competitive salary and benefits. Must have a minimum 1 year of security, civilian law enforcement or an equivalent position with the Armed Forces (military). Must be fluent in speaking and writing in English. Proficiency in basic computer skills is a plus. Applicant must be able to meet medical/physical fitness requirements. Prior experience in an armed position is preferred.

Responsibilities

Works directly for Shift Lead and the Regional Program Coordinator (RPC). Ensures compliance with orders, policies, and procedures, with emphasis on safe conduct of operations. Completes required ongoing and refresher training to ensure job proficiency in all areas of security. Controls entry/access to the facility or to restricted areas within the facility. Daily duties consist of enforcement of system of personnel identification; package and vehicle inspections; performs both static and roving patrols; identify, correct, secure, or arrange to correct security violations and initiate necessary reports; performs traffic control as needed; receives, issues and account for keys, locks, and access control passes; monitors fire/chemical agent/intrusion detection systems and other facility protection devices/ alarms. Conducts patrols; operates security systems; identifies, reports and detains persons suspected of violation/unauthorized access attempt to assigned facilities until appropriate law enforcement arrive. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 1 year of security or civilian law enforcement experience or an equivalent position with the Armed Forces. Must obtain and hold appropriate client required access authorization clearances. Must pass semi-annual weapons qualification standards and submit to and successfully complete pre-placement screening and evaluation, which includes submission to a criminal background check, financial institutions/credit bureau check, and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. Effective English language verbal and writing skills are required. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must also have high school diploma or GED. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for customer and team relations. Security Guards must maintain accurate knowledge of post orders, regulations, procedures, policies, and response plans. Proficiency in basic computer functions including keyboard entry, and work processing are essential. Security Guards must be able to meet medical/physical fitness requirements of the position. Must pass a medical examination, physical fitness testing, and medical/physical clearance that evaluates and measures the applicant's vision, hearing, cardiovascular system, musculosketal system, and general health. Must hold current and valid Alabama Security Regulatory Board as an armed security guard.
