Primary oversight of the overall development of the physical fitness training program, related equipment, documentation and training. Responsible for the continuity of the physical fitness training program.

Interfaces with Operations and Training Coordinators, Site Security Captains, Managers and staff regarding health and wellness issues concerning site protective force personnel.
Develops and maintains Protective Force Physical Fitness Program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with 10 CFR 1046 and all applicable Orders.
Develops a group physical fitness plan in support of the Annual Training Plan requirements.
Plans and coordinates site instructor attendance at the Physical Fitness Program required training and certification courses.
Provides direction, guidance, support and oversight to the Site Lieutenant and Training Sergeants regarding the physical fitness program, documentation, remedial and maintenance training.
Primary liaison and point-of-contact for the Physical Protection Medical Doctor (PPMD), Designated Physicians (DP) and CENTERRA management.
Advises the Training Manager in specialized fitness training requirements.
Tracks and maintains all fitness documentation related to fitness activities.
Provides knowledge based information and counseling for Protective Force personnel to improve overall site fitness levels.
Understands the CENTERRA wellness program and benefits plan to ensure employees are informed.
Integrates safety into all fitness related activities.
Provides input into budgeting, quality control, research, and safety and health of assigned program(s).
Assists the other CENTERRA Training programs as required.
Assists members of CENTERRA survey and assessment teams when required.
Performs other duties as assigned.


High School diploma is required. Some college in a law enforcement, security or physical fitness related discipline preferred.
Must have (or be able to) obtain and maintain the following required certifications: Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and Personnel Trainer (PT) Certification.
DOE Firearms Instructor Certification (FIC) preferred.

Must possess good oral and written communication skills and be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
Must be a detail oriented person with the ability to handle multiple personnel concurrently.

This position requires up to 65% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.

Physical Demands:
Lifting, twisting, standing, bending and some activities that involve running for long periods of time may occur. 50% of job will involve physical activity while the other 50% will involve sitting in front of the computer for extended periods of time. Employee will be required to visit all sites to monitor their fitness programs. Must be willing to work various shifts to accommodate needs of various sites.

Work is normally performed outside with varying temperatures.
