The Centerra Group is seeking full and part time firefighters to work at our contract located in Independence, Missouri. . EOE, M/F/D/V


RESPONSIBILITES: Assigned to a shift, Firefighters are assigned to an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance or suppression fire apparatus and respond to any/all emergency incidents regardless of nature; these emergency incidents may include, but are not limited to: • Emergency Medical Incidents • Structural Fires • Aircraft (ARFF) Incidents • Wild land Fires • Hazardous Materials Incidents • Technical Rescue Incidents • Motor Vehicle Accidents Firefighter Paramedics will assess, package, treat and transport individuals under their care. Firefighters prepare any/all medical reports and submit to the Shift Captain before the end of each assigned shift. Firefighters will inspect vehicles, equipment, medications and consumables for which they are assigned each duty shift. Firefighters are responsible for maintaining their certifications in accordance the Lake City Contract requirements and the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between The Centerra Group and the International Association of Firefighters Local I-66. Firefighters will participate in all assigned training and associated duties as a member of the Department’s Operations Division including any/all fire ground assignments. Employees also perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be at least 21 years of age • High School Diploma or GED equivalent • Valid Driver’s License • Physical ability & stamina test, background investigation, pre-employment and random drug screening is conducted. • Successfully complete post-offer medical examination to include respiratory use approval and immunization against vaccine preventable diseases. REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION: • IFSAC Firefighter II • IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations Level • Missouri State Paramedic/EMT-Basic or Nationally Registered Paramedic/EMT with ability to obtain MO EMT-P or EMT-B certification within 45 days • IFSAC Driver Operator Pumper and Hazardous Materials Technician preferred but not required.
