Centerra is seeking a Sergeant for our NASA/Goldstone contract to work at Fort Irwin National Training Center.

• Knowledge of NASA/Goldstone Security and Plant Protection policies and regulations; knowledge of protective devices; physical security protective systems including inspection and monitoring operations of each system; able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing; knowledge of municipal laws and arrest authority; able to exercise sound judgment in applying laws and regulations under stress conditions; be trustworthy and reliable; meet minimum physical standards prescribed in the prevailing NASA/Goldstone Security Operating Instructions, including any updates or revisions thereof; and meet all qualifications standards of training.

• Enforce security directives and regulations; prevent, detect and apprehend violators; provide aid and comfort during emergencies; control entry to facility closed and restricted areas; perform traffic control duties; provide escort of visitors as required; take appropriate action in event of fire, disorder or emergency threatening life or property; assist outside law enforcement agencies while on Goldstone premises; perform special patrol and/or surveillance duties; investigate accidents and incidents and submit accurate and complete written reports; protect NASA/Goldstone property, personal and sensitive information; and conduct inspections of vehicles, briefcases and packages to prevent unauthorized removal of government property.

• Fulfill working level security officer functions under direction of the Subcontractor’s Site Supervisor and be capable of independent actions under limited supervision. Assist with compliance of Client and Employer policies and procedures and notify management of related issues or concerns. Perform Post Inspections and make on the spot corrections, as needed. Document any failures to follow Client or Employer policies and procedures; Perform other duties as assigned by management..

Minimum Hourly wage is $20.75 - $22.97 (includes H& W)


• Minimum 2 years armed experience in the area of security and plant protection
• U.S. Citizen
• Successfully complete a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) background check
• Successfully complete a physical and psychological examination
• Successfully complete the NASA Federal Law Enforcement training basic academy and periodic refresher courses.
• Successfully complete Report writing & Excel examinations.
• Possess/In Process of a valid California B.S.I.S 9mm Weapons Permit and B.S.I.S Guard Card
• Possesses a valid California Drivers License
• Be willing to work any shift
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Management/Supervisor role. Must be able to Verify.
• Leadership- Ability to motivate and guide others to ensure performance in accordance with clear expectations and goals.
• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Associate’s Degree preferred or Equivalent experience
